Last updated: September 23, 2026
New Gen Technology handles sensitive equipment for schools, healthcare providers, government agencies and businesses, so we take privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are and scope
New Gen Technology LLC ("New Gen Technology," "we," "us") is an IT asset disposition, trade-in, data destruction and refurbished electronics company based in San Antonio, Texas, with processing facilities in Texas, California and Missouri. This policy applies to information collected through www.new-gentech.com, our quote and contact forms, email and phone communications, and our Services. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and business details: name, job title, organization, email address, phone number and pickup address.
- Request details: device types, models, quantities, condition and any notes you include in a quote request, inquiry, demo request or job application.
- Transaction and payment details: tax forms such as IRS Form W-9, remittance and banking details for ACH or wire payments, invoices and payment history.
- Communications: emails, calls and messages you exchange with us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: our hosting provider automatically receives standard server log information when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and time of visit, which is used for security and to operate the website.
- Third-party content: some product photos in our shop load from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. When they load, your browser connects to those services, which receive your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies.
We do not currently use advertising trackers, cross-site tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this website.
3. Data stored on devices you send us
Data on Equipment you send us is not collected, reviewed, used, sold or shared by New Gen Technology. We treat all such data as confidential and sanitize or destroy it using methods consistent with NIST SP 800-88. Our personnel are prohibited from accessing it except to the limited extent technically necessary to perform and verify sanitization. See our Data Security page.
4. How we use information
- to respond to quote requests, inquiries and demo requests;
- to provide the Services, including scheduling pickups, performing Audits, issuing certificates and reports, and processing payments;
- to process orders for refurbished equipment, including shipping, returns and support;
- to verify identity and ownership of Equipment, and to prevent fraud and the resale of stolen property;
- to maintain records required for tax, accounting, environmental and legal compliance;
- to secure and improve our website and Services;
- to send service-related communications. We send marketing emails only to business contacts who can opt out at any time by replying "unsubscribe" or contacting us; and
- to review job applications you submit.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only as needed to run our business, and only with:
- Service providers who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, including website hosting and form processing (Netlify), business email (Google Workspace), banks and payment processors, freight carriers and logistics partners, and accounting and IT providers;
- Downstream recycling partners, who receive Equipment only after data has been sanitized or destroyed, and never your contact details unless needed for compliance reporting;
- Authorities, when required by law, subpoena or court order, to investigate stolen property or fraud, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our company or others;
- A successor business, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy; and
- Others with your consent or at your direction.
6. No sale of personal information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We have not done so in the past twelve months.
7. Cookies and browser storage
Our website does not use advertising cookies. It uses your browser's temporary session storage only to remember items you add to your quote list and to speed up loading product photos during your visit. This information stays in your browser and is cleared when you close it. You can block or clear browser storage in your browser settings. Some site features may not work without it.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Quote requests and inquiries that do not lead to a transaction are generally deleted within twenty-four (24) months. Transaction, chain-of-custody, certificate and payment records are generally retained for at least seven (7) years to meet tax, audit and compliance requirements and to support our customers' audits. We may keep information longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.
9. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on our website, access controls limited to personnel with a business need, multi-factor authentication on business accounts where available, and access-restricted processing areas at our facilities. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected individuals and authorities of a data breach as required by law.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Texas and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and disclose it;
- access and receive a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions such as records we must keep;
- opt out of any sale, targeted advertising or profiling (we do not engage in these); and
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email Accounts@new-gentech.com with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the time required by law, generally forty-five (45) days. You may use an authorized agent with written permission. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject "Privacy Appeal," and we will respond to your appeal within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
11. Education, health and financial records
Many of our customers are subject to laws such as FERPA, HIPAA, and GLBA. We do not seek access to records protected by these laws. Any such records stored on Equipment are handled only as described in Section 3 and are sanitized or destroyed. Organizations that require a business associate agreement, data protection agreement or vendor security review should contact us before shipping Equipment.
